Online Sexual Health Tests

The popularity of online sexual health screening services has increased substantially over the last few years and they have become a welcome alternative to the GUM clinic. They are convenient and discrete as everything is done online. No phone calls are required and most importantly they are speedy.

The websites are very easy to follow and the packaging and contact between you and the company is very discrete. All that is required is a quick registration before you choose and purchase a test online. The test kit is usually delivered the following day and most results take a mere 24 hours as opposed to the nail biting 2 week wait after your GUM clinic appointment.

Generally, an online screening service will require a vaginal swab or urine sample to carry out the test procedure. Chlamydia test kits are probably the most popular item with these clinics because of the huge amount of publicity given to Chlamydia but these services are also able to test for gonorrhoea, herpes and syphilis. If you are concerned about your sexual health then it is wise to have as wide a screen as possible. (more...)

Bacterial Vaginosis is not an STI

Bacterial Vaginosis is a common condition that affects about 1 in 3 women during the course of their life. Yet it is rather poorly understood and not well known among most women.

Half of the women who have Bacterial Vaginosis do not notice any symptoms. However, of those who do notice symptoms, a grey, fishy smelling discharge from the vagina is most commonly reported. In some cases the discharge can also become watery. Another symptom is experiencing pain when passing urine or during intercourse.

Due to the symptoms, bacterial vaginosis often becomes confused with STIs. However, it is caused by imbalance in bacteria around the vagina and can be present in women who are not sexually active. Generally, there are both so-called good and bad bacteria in this region and when the bad bacteria outnumber the good bacteria, an inflammation in the vagina results in the changes in discharge. Viagra and Cialis Prescribed Online

Suffering from erectile dysfunction can be a relationship-destroying phenomenon but there is really no need to suffer in the way that our forefathers had to before the advent of Viagra. Viagra was the first of the medications to treat the condition historically known as impotence and there have been other product launches in its wake.

If you are one of the 40% of men over 40 who is affected by erectile dysfunction then we strongly recommend that you make an appointment to see your GP as there may be an underlying cause that has not been identified. Common conditions that have erectile dysfunction as a symptom are diabetes and cardiovascular problems. If you have gone through the process with your GP and you are on appropriate treatment or any underlying condition has been ruled out, then it may be appropriate for you to get Viagra or Cialis prescribed online by a licensed clinic. If you go down this route then you need to verify the identity of the clinic and we recommend using a website in the UK as it is easy to check the license with the Care Quality Commission.

We strongly recommend that if you are taking either Viagra or Cialis then you should consult with the online doctor regarding the appropriate starting dose. It is never appropriate to start on the top dose of medication as you may have side effects and the high dose may not be warranted, as a lower dose would have the same therapeutic benefit. (more...)
